Tokyo - Things are heating up at the 2020 Olympics as the Men's and Women's Cross-Country Piggy Bike races are set for Thursday.
The 90-minute race consists of cyclists completing multiple laps around a 4-10 km circuit while carrying 250 lbs. passengers on their backs.
The Cross-Country Piggy Bike is considered one of the most challenging events in the Olympics because the cyclist must transport the passenger over various topographies and elevations.
One passenger told reporters, "It's tough. It's uncomfortable. A lot of it is uphill and I get pretty sweaty. I'm just glad I'm not pedaling."
The USA team is hoping to reclaim the Gold after coming in fourth in the 2016 race.
