After Blue Origin flight, Jeff Bezos to take over USS Enterprise

Van Horn, TX - According to reports, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos will take over as Captain of the USS Enterprise upon the successful completion of today's Blue Origin space flight.

A spokesperson for the billionaire told reporters, "While I can't comment on Captain Bezos's future plans, I can assure you that he is prepared to go where no world's richest man has gone before."

For comparison, the Blue Origin space flight is expected to last 11 minutes. A typical Enterprise mission is five years. Many suggest the half-decade commitment is why Bezos stepped down as Amazon CEO earlier this month.

A spokesperson addressed the rumor by saying, "Captain Bezos has not made any decisions about his next adventure, but when the time is right, he will make it so."

Blue Origin is scheduled to launch at 9:00 a.m. Eastern on July 20.
