The Sunset Villa apartment complex announced today that it will now be known as Tranquil Oaks, effective immediately. In a letter to residents, Wes Culligan, the complex manager, requested that all tenants refer to the property exclusively as Tranquil Oaks moving forward. Culligan told reporters, “I can literally think of no better time than now to usher in the next chapter in our property's evolution. Along with our exciting new name, our Tranquil Oaks maintenance team is hard at work renovating many of our rooms with luxurious new carpet and paint. In celebration of this day, Tranquil Oaks will be hosting a free nacho bar for all residents from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Tranquil Oaks clubhouse.”
Culligan made no mention of the triple homicide that happened on the premises just two weeks ago. When asked if the sudden name change was in any way related to the horrific murders that took three innocent lives, Culligan said, “Absolutely not. We at Tranquil Oaks would never try to disassociate from the unfortunate incident that happened at the Sunset Villa apartments. The Tranquil Oaks family welcomes all Sunset Villa residents and we are excited for this fresh start.” Culligan went on to say that safety is the number one priority of the Tranquil Oaks management team and there are no plans to add additional security at this time.
Records show this is the fifth name change for the apartment complex in the last three years.
