Author of controversial bill to outlaw disguises sneaks past protesters dressed as clown

Updated: Apr 13, 2020

Nashville, TN - According to reports, a state representative who proposed a controversial bill that would outlaw wearing disguises in public was spotted sneaking past courthouse protesters dressed as a clown.

The bill, which would make concealing your identity a misdemeanor, quickly led to community backlash and protests on the courthouse steps. It is rumored that the representative was leaving the courthouse after pulling the bill when he was seen exiting a side door in full clown regalia.

The Inquisitor approached the representative as he climbed into a car full of clowns. We asked for comment, but he only honked a horn twice and drove away. It is unclear what the honks meant.

As of this morning, we can confirm that the legislation has been pulled and is in the process of being rewritten. Insiders tell us the revised bill will include provisions allowing citizens to dress as clowns.

This is a developing story.
