Bulletin of Atomic Scientists introduces new timekeeper for Doomsday Clock

Chicago, IL - The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists continued a 75-year tradition on Thursday when members set the Doomsday Clock to 100 seconds until midnight. That's the same time it has been since 2020.

While the time did not change this year, the scientific organization did introduce its new timekeeper, Dr. Jim D. Reper.

"We are thrilled to death to welcome Dr. Reper to the Doomsday family. He comes with unprecedented experience, and we can't wait to see the positive impact he makes on our project," said a Bulletin spokesperson.

Reper, who has a Doctorate in Historical Studies from the University of Phoenix is best known for his expertise in the black plague and extinction-level events. In his new role as timekeeper, he will actively lead day-to-day initiatives to determine how close humanity is to destroying the world.

Reper did not make remarks at the event but did assure everyone in attendance that he would see them soon.
