BREAKING: TDOT finds even more roads to block off during 2nd weekend of closures

BREAKING NEWS: In an update to last weekend's traffic coverage, a TDOT representative announced this morning that after a week of long days and sleepless nights, they have successfully found even more roads to block off during this 2nd weekend of closures.

"We want the people of Nashville to know that we've been working around the clock to make these extra closures possible," said a TDOT representative. "We even had a few crews out there building new roads this week just so we could close them for you this weekend."

Traffic experts recommend adding an additional six hours and 14 minutes to your travel plans if you intend to go anywhere in Nashville this weekend.

ORIGINAL STORY:

TDOT announced on Friday afternoon that they are officially out of roads to close in Nashville this weekend.

A TDOT representative said in a statement, "We have been working diligently all morning to identify additional roads that we could shut down, but unfortunately, we have reached capacity. We are also out of barrels."

According to sources, a last-minute plan to close down I-24, I-40 and 840 was rejected when construction engineers expressed concerns that shutting down every interstate would prevent construction workers from reaching the job sites.

The statement ended on a positive note, suggesting there will be plenty of road closures in the near future and even larger, more ambitious construction projects coming in the months and years ahead.
