Nashville, TN - When Charlie Lane landed in Nashville on New Year's morning after a year-long retreat in the Himalayas, he quickly realized things had changed. The moment he got home, he fired up his computer and asked friends on Facebook to fill him in.
Lane wrote at 8:05 a.m., "Hey guys, just got back from a year-long yoga retreat. What did I miss?"
Lane explained that he had spent 365 days in an isolated mountain top retreat cleansing himself of all anxiety, stress, and negativity.
A lot of friends thought he was joking and responded with the laughter emoji. A few made comments like "Corona, man" and "Stop the steal, bro." Still, a couple took the time to give a detailed rundown of 2020.
Credit card records show Lane purchased a one-way ticket to Nepal at 8:12 a.m.
At 8:15 a.m., Charlie wrote, "Thanks for the update, all. See you in 2022."
Lane was last spotted at 8:20 a.m., climbing into an Uber, heading back to the airport.
