Local Amazon bookstore put out of business by massive online retailer

Nashville, TN - In sad news for Nashville book-lovers, Amazon announced that Amazon Books at The Mall at Green Hills will soon be closing its doors, along with 67 other locations.

"We just can't compete with... well... you know," said a representative, refusing to name the online retailer that is putting them out of business.

"They undercut prices to the point where local brick and mortar shops like us have no chance at success. It's awful."

Amazon Books opened in November 2019 but suffered during the pandemic when customers discovered an online retailer that offered a larger inventory at lower prices.

Many customers expressed anger regarding the store closing.

One man told reporters, "It's shameful. I hope Amazon Books sues that company for what they've done. There has got to be some sort of law protecting mom and pop shops like Amazon Books against soulless online conglomerates. Right?"

An official closing date has not been announced.
