Local woman ends 5-year Netflix password-sharing relationship with ex-boyfriend

Nashville, TN - According to reports, a Nashville woman ended a 5-year Netflix password-sharing relationship with her ex-boyfriend on Friday morning.

Witnesses say they saw the couple near Piercy Priest Lake, and overheard the entire conversation.

Elizabeth Johnson was walking her dog when she saw the couple exchange an awkward hug along the shore. Then, the girl reportedly said, "There's really no easy way to say, so I'm going to get straight to it. We broke up like five years ago, and this Netflix sharing thing is just not working anymore. I think it's best if we go our separate ways account-wise."

Another witness said the man became visibly emotional and began to cry, asking what he did wrong.

The girl told him, "It's not you, it's Netflix," and explained that the streaming company was about to crack down on password sharing.

"Why wait and put off the inevitable?" she said. "It's time."

She also added she is engaged and getting married on May 7. She denied his request to attend.

The entire conversation only lasted a few minutes.

Inquisitor Nashville reached out to the man who said he was devastated but is hopeful to meet someone new with a Netflix account in the near future.
