Baltimore, MD - The Governor of Maryland announced on Thursday that beginning May 25, vaccinated residents will have a daily chance to win a deluxe lottery ball costume.
This deluxe costume incentive comes on the heels of several other states who are offering up to a million dollars to encourage people to get vaccinated.
Speaking from the steps of the capitol, the governor told reporters, "Sure, some states are offering a million bucks, but who wants that when you could have this cool ass costume. So, get your shot for a shot to win."
Starting Tuesday, the state will randomly select and award a deluxe costume to a vaccinated Marylander each day through July 3. There will be 40 lucky winners in all.
To prevent people from moving to the state only to win the costume, winners must show proof they established residence before May 20, when the contest was announced.
