Nashville cherry trees arm themselves after city expresses interest to host 2024 NFL draft

Nashville, TN - Dozens of cherry trees in downtown Nashville have armed themselves this morning after the city announced they have submitted an "expression of interest" to host the 2024 or 2025 NFL Draft.

The sudden call to arms is in response to the city allowing the destruction of 20 defenseless cherry trees in 2019 to accommodate the NFL draft stage and media tents.

A spokesperson for the Preservation of Cherry Trees Association told reporters, "While we don't condone violence, Nashville cherry trees have the right to defend themselves and their families. I would strongly encourage the city to find an alternate venue for its festivities."
