Nashville city officials announced this morning that Broadway will be blocked by the San Francisco 49ers this weekend as part of the NFL draft.
Although the team only ranked 23rd in defense for the 2018 season, they bring with them extensive experience with heavy San Francisco traffic that should serve them well in Music City.
The team will line up on 5th Avenue near the entrance to Bridgestone Arena and the start of the honky-tonk district. The Colts, Packers and Ravens are also scheduled to block additional downtown streets over the course of the weekend.
Officials urge visitors to avoid downtown if you are not attending the NFL draft, Jimmy Buffet concert, Music City Marathon, flea market or host of other events conveniently scheduled the same weekend. Attendance is expected to exceed 300,000 people.
