Nashville, TN - Nashville native Kellie Valentine was beyond excited when friends invited her to the Iroquois Steeplechase earlier this week. Her only problem was finding the perfect hat.
"I was invited so late in the game. All the big hats were already taken," said Valentine. "I'm so embarrassed."
Valentine eventually settled for a 105-inch wide brim that she found online.
Aside from the race itself, Valentine says she is most excited to visit with friends and rub elbows with the Nashville elite.
"I'm just excited to see and be seen," said Valentine.
The first race of the 81st Iroquois Steeplechase begins at 1:00 p.m.
