Nashville, TN - On September 15, the Metro Council is expected to vote on allowing restaurants to utilize sidewalks, parking lots, and bathrooms to expand their seating capacity,
One Nashville eatery has already expanded its seating with bathroom dining. Johns in the Gulch announced on Thursday that it has repurposed an employee restroom to expand their available tables, all within COVID-19 guidelines.
"The staff only uses it for smoke breaks, so it's really been a waste of prime real estate up until now," said owner Lou Potter.
Other restaurant owners we spoke to said they plan to wait for the council's vote before they make any decisions about repurposing their facilities.
Potter responded, "They can wait, but we're tired of waiting. It's go time. And when you got to go, you got to go."
