Nashvillians ask mayor to postpone return of bachelorette parties until Phase Five

Nashville, TN - According to reports, a large anonymous Nashville citizen's group has petitioned Mayor John Cooper to postpone the return of bachelorette parties to the city until at least Phase Five of the city's reopening plan.

A spokesperson for the group said, "We believe that pushing the return of bachelorette parties out as far as possible gives the city the best chance for a successful reopening. We think Phase Five or Phase Six is ideal. Phase Seven would be even better."

Not everyone agrees. Local pedal tavern owner, Bruce Holland, said, "Restricting bachelorette parties would devastate our industry. It would literally destroy 99% of our business."

Other business owners say they would also suffer including downtown boot stores, party buses, karaoke bars, and the wings mural in The Gulch.

Mayor Cooper has yet to weigh in on the issue.
