A newly released DNA report proves beyond a doubt that David Derek Daniels, a convicted murder serving a life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit, is 1/8 Irish. According to sources, the DNA test was given to Daniels by a family member for Christmas and administered by a prison official in January. The results came back just hours after Daniels was denied an appeal for the fifth time in nine years. According to his attorney, Daniels remains in good spirits. "Of course, my client is disappointed. He was raised to believe his family heritage was German, so this came as shock. Still, we're not giving up. He plans to take another test in the coming weeks." Daniels currently shares a cell with Jack "The Irish Killer" Edwards. No word yet whether Edwards is aware of Daniels’ DNA results. This is a developing story.
