Nashville, TN - As the foodservice industry struggles to find workers, businesses are hoping higher wages will attract employees. Many companies are passing on the added labor costs to their patrons, including Chipotle.
To offset rising wages, Chipotle customers will now pay 4% more for food poisoning.
"It feels like the right thing, at the right time," said a company representative. "We feel like it is a win-win for our employees, the customer, and the medical community."
Loyal Chipotle customers we interviewed seemed unfazed by the higher cost.
"If a small price increase helps gets them staffed and speeds up service, then I'm on board." said one customer we spoke to in a local emergency room.
