Too cute! Tourist thinks the Cumberland River was dyed green for St. Patrick's Day

Updated: Apr 13, 2020

Nashville, TN - According to eye-witness accounts, a naive Nashville tourist thinks that the Cumberland River was dyed green for St. Patrick's Day.

Carol Bloomfield, a 23-year-old teacher from Cincinnati was overheard telling a downtown police officer, "Aww. They dye the river green here like in Chicago? So cool."

The officer was heard answering, "Yep," before walking far enough away to laugh without her hearing. He later explained to reporters, "I hate to lie, but why ruin the magic?"

Sources say that Bloomfield was not the only one to make the mistake. Countless visitors were spotted taking selfies and photos of the river from the pedestrian bridge to post on social media for St. Patty's Day.
