Washington, D.C. - According to reports, an anonymous congressman nominated George Santos as Speaker of the House Thursday night after eleven failed votes for Kevin McCarthy.
The man addressed the chamber, saying, "We cannot trust McCarthy. But George Santos? That's a man of his word. I formally nominate Santos for Speaker of the House."
Political analysts say that the idea is gathering steam, with over 195 GOP members on board to vote for McCarthy's competitor.
More votes are expected on Friday.
