Jake Thomas, a 19-year-old Nashville State student, still can’t believe his parents are letting him attend his first Bonnaroo music festival in Manchester, TN this June. After months of anticipation, the wait is almost over. According to reports, Jake told his co-workers at Little Caesars, “Man, I can’t wait to get my ‘Roo’ on. Four days of freedom and no showers! It’s going to be epic!”
The popular festival runs June 13-16 and features over 150 acts, including Childish Gambino and Cardi B. When a friend asked Jake which performer he is most excited about seeing, he reportedly told them, “I don’t even know who’s playing. All I know is I ain’t going to shower once all weekend!”
The Inquisitor Nashville spoke to Jake’s parents about his trip and learned that they suspect Jake stopped showering a week ago. Speaking by phone, Jake’s mom told us, “We’re not certain, but we think he stopped last Tuesday. We’ve asked repeatedly but he just says something about ‘ruining his 'Roo’ and goes to his room.” Jake’s dad added, “It’s fine. He’s just excited about the music. It’s like tailgating. He’s just getting a little head start. It’s completely normal.”
Jake’s parents say they plan to drop Jake off in Manchester on Thursday morning and are prepared to make the trip with the windows down if needed.
Jake was cooling down from a long workout when we called and not available for comment.
