Bonnaroo police announce awesome Day One lineup

Updated: Jun 17, 2019

Manchester, TN - The Manchester Police Department has announced an awesome lineup for Day One of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.

Over 70 attendees received citations and 12 were arrested in the opening hours of the four-day event. The majority of the arrests were for illegal possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct.

One intoxicated woman, Shirley Hampton, rushed the stage during a performance by SunSquabi demanding to know who invited the Colorado-based electronica funk band. She reportedly grabbed a microphone and asked, "Who are you? Who told you you could play? Where's Blake Shelton? I want to hear Blake Shelton?" Police say this was Hampton's second arrest in two weeks. She was also apprehended at CMA Fest for throwing a hot dog at Miranda Lambert.

John Dillmont of Madison, TN, was arrested for spraying concert-goers with soapy water, demanding they take showers. He reportedly told passers-by, "Cleanse yourself, my brothers and sisters. For we must prepare the way for the PHISH! Hark, they are coming and the hour is nigh."

Manchester police officials say they expect to write over 300 citations and make more than 100 arrests in the next few days.
