Sonny Records has announced the signing of model, Ty Colton, to a two-album record deal. The 25-year-old heartthrob told reporters, “I’m thrilled to be part of the Sonny Records family and can’t wait to begin my first photo shoot for the new album thing.” He went on to say he hopes that fans will be able to look past his
voice to see how incredibly handsome he truly is.
While no vocal samples have been released to the public, Sonny Records held a press conference this morning to quiet music insiders’ concerns about the model turned singer’s vocal abilities. According to label representative, Steve Ballard, “I assure you Ty can physically sing. And Sonny Records is committed to using every vocal production technique available to make Ty sound as decent as possible. More importantly, the new album will come with an exclusive photo booklet, 12-month Ty Colton calendar, and life-time access to an expansive digital library of never-before-seen Ty Colton videos and images.”
After an initial 21-day photo shoot, Ty will reportedly spend the next six months on a press tour, followed by three photo shoots and a two-month video shoot for promo materials. In December, he is expected to hit the studio. He will spend a long afternoon with a voice coach then record the album's vocals over a six-hour session. That will leave a team of audio engineers, working in shifts, just a few short months to tweak the vocals.
The new album is expected to drop in May 2020 to coincide with the release of a special edition Ty Colton photo anthology book.
