Murfreesboro, TN - Harry Potter fans rejoiced this week when a local spa made headlines for its Hogwarts inspired decor and services.
The wizardly day spa offers a wide range of services from its Hot Sorcerer's Stone Massage to the Quidditch Bludger Massage. However, their signature service is Hagrid's Hot Butter-beard Massageâ„¢.
According to the spa's website, "During this luxurious 50-minute deep tissue massage, you will be greeted by an authentic Hagrid performer who will cover you in hot melted butter before caressing you with the rigid bristles of his giant beard."
While the spa itself has earned a magical 4.9 out of 5 stars on SpaAdvisor.com, the butter-beard experience itself has received some criticism.
Betty Ann wrote, "Very disappointed. My impersonator was only 6′ 8″ and had tiny hands compared to the real Hagrid. If you are going to advertise an 'authentic' Hagrid performer, at least find one that's 12-feet tall."
"I've smelled like butter for three weeks. I can't wash it off," said Hellen Anderson from Murfreesboro, TN.
The Inquisitor interviewed an unnamed customer moments after the service, who said, "It was kind of awkward at first. Then, it got worse from there. It pretty much stayed awkward. I do feel better, so I guess that's good. I'm just not sure if it is from the massage or because it is over."
