Nashville, TN - According to a social media post, 7-year-old Tim Connor surprised his mom's newest husband with a heartfelt "Best Dad So Far" card for Father's Day.
The stepfather, Darrell Simpson, wrote, "My new stepson just gave me the sweetest card. Best Dad So Far! Not bad, considering... Love this kid."
Court records show that Darrell is Carol Connor's fifth husband, not counting Tim's biological father, Jake.
The couple married in May after a whirlwind two-week romance. But this time, Carol says it's for keeps.
"Doug...Darrell is the man I've been waiting for all my life, and I can't wait to spend most of my life with him."
Darrell says he plans to spend the day hanging out with Tim while Carol goes and visits a new friend from work.
