Nashville, TN - A local man was cited on Monday for driving the wrong way down a one-way Publix aisle.
Sgt. Steve Coleman was policing the frozen pizza section when he spotted the driver, Andy Sloan, pulling into Aisle 8 in the wrong direction. Sgt. Coleman immediately pulled the man over to the side and asked for identification.
Witnesses say Sloan acknowledged the mistake, telling the officer that he was in a hurry and didn't see the directional signs on the floor. Sgt. Coleman remained firm by issuing the citation but gave Sloan the opportunity to attend store traffic school instead of a hefty fine.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident but the scene did cause a backup at Checkout #5 as shoppers slowed down to see what was going on.
