Nathan Bedford Forrest statue spotted high-tailing it out of Nashville

Nashville, TN - A week of protests was enough for a local Nathan Bedford Forrest statue who was spotted high-tailing it out of Nashville on Saturday afternoon.

Motorists reported seeing the strawberry-covered confederate general making a break for it around 3:30 p.m. as hundreds of supporters of all races and colors united for a "March for Justice"protest in downtown Nashville.

"He looked scared," said one motorist, "Well, scared or constipated. It's difficult to tell."

Hundreds of travelers were reportedly taunting the statue as they drove past. Many were heard yelling, "Run, Forrest, Run."

The statue was originally believed to be heading south on I-65 toward Alabama, but more recent reports suggest he is heading for Georgia. It is unclear what his final destination will be or if he will be welcomed there when he arrives.

This is a developing story.
