New Amazon fulfillment center to bring 1,000 jobs to out-of-work robots

Mount Juliet, TN - A new Amazon fulfillment center, located just outside of Nashville, is expected to bring over 1,000 jobs to local out-of-work robots.

Although they are often overlooked by the media, factory robots have been one of the hardest-hit populations during the COVID pandemic. As car manufacturers, food plants, and industrial factories have shut down, it has left many robots out of work with no unemployment benefits or financial support.

A union representative for the workers says the new fulfillment center is a much-needed glimmer of hope and he is confident the units he represents can be retrofit to perform a wide variety of duties at the new warehouse.

"We are excited for this opportunity to partner with Amazon to get these hard-working units back on the floor," said the spokesperson. "They deserve it."

The Amazon center is also expected to create 1,000 jobs for humans as well.
