RNC hires St. Louis couple to head up security at Charlotte convention

Charlotte, North Carolina - A spokesperson for the Republican National Convention announced on Tuesday that the organization has hired St. Louis couple, Mark and Patricia McCloskey, to head up security for the Charlotte convention.

While much of the convention will be held remotely, the RNC still anticipates a substantial number of protesters to descend on Charlotte ahead of the conference.

The spokesperson told reporters, "The RNC can think of no better patriots to protect our convention from anarchist than Mr. and Mrs. McCloskey. Their brave stand in St. Louis makes them a shining example of what our party is all about. We are confident they can keep our guests and building secure with a limited amount of violence."

The McCloskeys will reportedly speak at the convention as well as lead a team of 100 elite commandos to secure the perimeter of the building and entrances.

The McCloskeys did not respond to our request for comment.
