Seattle Police apologize after taking over local AutoZone instead of Autonomous Zone

Seattle, WA - The Seattle Police Department has issued a formal apology after a miscommunication led a hundred officers in riot gear to take over a local AutoZone instead of the Autonomous Zone they were meant to engage.

The Mayor and Chief of Police wrote in a joint letter, "While we clearly see where 'AutoZone' and 'Autonomous Zone' could be confused, the Mayor and I want to apologize to the patriotic employees and customers of AutoZone who were detained in the raid."

The letter went on to point out that neither city representative had ordered the strike but they would be investigating who to blame in the coming days.

The letter did not say if and when the police would be moving to take back the six-block "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone" and their fallen East Precinct.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured and the store only suffered minor damage. The store plans to reopen on Saturday after replacing the shattered windows and allowing time for any remaining tear gas to dissipate.
