Seattle, WA - Starbucks announced on Wednesday that they plan to go cup-free by 2025.
"Coffee cups are iconic, and we love that," said a spokesperson. "But they are also a symbol of unnecessary waste. It's time we go cup-free."
According to sources, the company is considering allowing patrons to bring their own reusable cups. Otherwise, customers can simply order a handful of their favorite beverages.
The move is part of a bigger initiative to cut waste by 50% by 2030. The company will also reportedly eliminate napkins, food packaging, and toilet paper in store bathrooms.
