Nashville, TN - Despite a complete lack of evidence, Tennessee Titans fan Bob Carmike insists his Titans mask has a better defense to the coronavirus than any other team mask in the NFL.
Although studies have found no proof that custom masks increase protection, Carmike wrote on Facebook, "I don't care what 'experts' say. I guarantee my Titans mask can beat any team mask in the league. I'll bet my paycheck on it, as soon as I get back to work."
The Inquisitor reached out to a Vegas odds-maker to see if there are currently any bets being placed on NFL-themed medical masks. He said there are none at the moment but it was a promising idea given the current lack of sports to bet on. He plans to follow up on Monday after making some calls.
At the time of this publishing, Carmike had three people willing to make the wager: a Bengals fan, a Dolphins fan, and a Cowboys fan.
It is unclear how the parties will test their masks' defense to the virus but a local medical doctor we spoke to said he is very concerned and watching the Facebook conversation very closely. He is a Dolphins fan.
