TN man loses 'The Price Is Right' after overestimating value of sanitizer by $1,600

Chattanooga, TN - A Hixson County man lost on "The Price Is Right" this week when he overestimated the value of hand sanitizer by nearly $1,600.

When contestants were asked to guess the price of a 2 fl. oz. bottle of sanitizer, the other two players opted for $.60 and $1.60. The Hickson man quickly responded, "$1,500." Host, Drew Carey was visibly surprised by the outrageous amount and gave the man a second chance to change his answer. The Tennessee man said, "You're right, Drew." and raised it to $1,600. The correct answer was $1. 89.

Hickson County residents we spoke to said they were embarrassed by the man and apologized for his ignorance. The man said he didn't regret his answer and feels like it is a reasonable price for the product.
