Trump consults Xi Jinping on how to shut down social media

Washington D.C. - White House insiders say President Trump spent the morning on the phone with Chinese President Xi Jinping, seeking advice on how to best shut down social media if he chooses to do so.

The call came just hours after the President threatened to close down social media in a 6:11 a.m. tweet.

Democrats have largely remained silent on the issue. A few have even expressed uncharacteristic support for the President.

Nancy Pelosi said, "While we don't support censorship, we would strongly support President Trump's decision to shut down his primary means of communication with the American public."

A transcript of the call is not expected to be released, but President Trump described it as a "perfect call."
