Trump taps Dr. 'Bones' McCoy to lead Operation Warp Speed mission for vaccine

Washington, D.C. - President Trump announced on Friday that Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy would lead the new "Operation Warp Speed" task force and their six-month mission to develop a COVID-19 vaccine by the end of the year.

Speaking from the White House Rose Garden, President Trump said, "I have complete faith that Dr. McCoy and his very, very smart team will boldly go where no country has gone before and develop this vaccine in record time."

Dr. McCoy thanked the President, but tempered expectations by saying, "While I'm honored by the President's nomination to this task force, I want to remind everyone that I'm a doctor, not a virologist."

Dr. McCoy most recently served as chief medical officer aboard the USS Enterprise.
