Walmart to require masks beginning July 20; Pants, shirts still optional

Nashville, TN - Walmart announced today that U.S. stores will require all customers to wear masks beginning July 20.

The press release went to great lengths to calm fears of customers, clearly stating that the new clothing mandate only applied to facial coverings. Pants and shirts will remain optional.

Loyal Walmart shopper Bill Brighthook told reporters, "I'm not happy with the mask rule, but I can deal with it. Now, if they tried to make me wear pants, that would be a deal-breaker."

Other customers we interviewed expressed mixed feelings about the mandate, but all said they will continue to support the retail giant as long as their "God-given rights to pantless and shirtless expression" are not infringed upon.
